About the event

This two-day course is designed to teach technicians basic plumbing and sewer system design, as well as the safe operation and application of drain and sewer cleaning equipment. The class is taught utilizing classroom and hands-on formats. A written text and a working laboratory with plumbing fixtures are provided for real-world experience utilizing Spartan Tool drain and sewer cleaning equipment.

Cost: $795 per student for the two-day System Diagnosis & Equipment Operation Safety course

Day one is classroom lecture. Day two is both classroom and laboratory training in actual situations technicians will face on the job. A written certification exam and a practical test are given during the course.

Day 1

  • The Seven Major Hazards in Sewer & Drain Cleaning
  • Residential Plumbing Systems
  • Light Commercial Plumbing Systems
  • Municipal Sewer Systems
  • Septic Tank Systems
  • Interceptors
  • Hazardous Waste Laws
  • Terminology in Sewer & Drain Cleaning

Day 2

  • Understanding Electromechanical Equipment Design
  • Sewer Cables, Attachments, and Applications
  • Proper Operating Procedures and Techniques Using Electromechanical and High-Velocity Water Jetting Equipment
  • Written Exam
  • Laboratory Training
  • Laboratory Exam
